My Journey to Calm

I had my first panic attack on a family holiday at Infinity on the Gold Coast.

It came completely out of the blue — and it was intense.

What followed were years of claustrophobia, social anxiety, and more panic attacks than I’d like to admit. For nearly two decades, anxiety quietly shaped my world. It influenced where I felt safe going, how long I stayed, and how much energy I spent just holding it together.

I was a trained nurse so:

I understood the nervous system clinically.
I understood stress responses in theory.

But experiencing anxiety in my own body was something else entirely.

I tried therapies. I explored different approaches. Some helped, and some didn’t. But what I kept coming back to was this feeling that when my system was overwhelmed, information alone wasn’t enough.

What I needed was something practical.
Something I could reach for in the moment.
Something that worked with my body, not against it.
Something that could help me feel just a little more steady when everything inside me felt too loud, too fast, or too much.

That’s what led me to explore sensory regulation through touch.

I became deeply interested in the way touch can bring us back to the present - how something simple, physical, and grounding can interrupt the spiral and give the nervous system something else to hold onto.

I was especially drawn to the palm. It felt so simple, yet so powerful - a small, accessible part of the body that could offer immediate sensory feedback in overwhelming moments. As I explored this more deeply, I found myself fascinated by palm acupressure and its roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine, which has long recognised the body’s pressure points as pathways to greater balance, grounding, and calm.

There was something incredibly comforting to me in that idea - that support didn’t always have to come from something big or complicated. Sometimes it could begin with touch. With connection. With giving the body a gentle signal that it was safe to come back to the present.

That’s how my journey with Sensori Calm began.

Sensori Calm pairs palm acupressure with gentle microcurrent pulses, creating a steady sensory signal the brain can focus on in the moment.

Not to override emotions.
Not to force calm.
But to support regulation - helping the body shift into a more grounded, settled state.

What I love most about Sensori Calm is that its simple, tangible, and easy to reach for. It’s the kind of support I had been searching for - something practical for real-life moments, when I needed comfort, grounding, and a way to reconnect with my body.

And now, it’s something I’m so proud to share with others - in the hope that it might help someone else feel just a little more grounded, supported, and less alone in those moments too.

With calm and care,
Jenni
